RN Programs in Massachusetts

Becoming a registered nurse (RN) in Massachusetts is an excellent career path for individuals desiring to enter the medical field. Registered Nurses in Massachusetts are the second highest paid registered nurses in the county.

RN programs in Massachusetts offer education and training for individuals who want to start a nursing career. Even though Massachusetts has suffered greatly during this economic crisis and many jobs have been lost, graduates of RN schools in Massachusetts join one of the only industries that are growing in the entire state. Students who complete Massachusetts RN programs are able to find gainful employment upon graduation.

There are two ways to become a Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts. Students must choose from a two-year or four-year program. The two-year RN program leads to an Associate in Science Nursing (ASN) and the four-year program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Graduates from both programs qualify to take the national exam that is required for licensing.

RN Licensure in Massachusetts

Registered nurses requesting licensure in Massachusetts must graduate from an accredited RN program. They must then pass the NCLEX-RN before their license can be issued.

RN Programs in Massachusetts

RN programs have their own requirements for admission to the program. Many schools require that applicants have completed science and math classes while maintaining a certain grade point average in high school. Others require all college preparatory classes, and a few only require that the applicant has graduated from high school. Applicants are strongly urged to apply around one year before hoping to begin classes. This allows time for interviews and college visits.
