The demand for RNs is greater than ever, leading many current LVN/LPNs to consider further education. But sitting in a college classroom can be difficult for a busy nurse or anyone currently employed in the healthcare industry.

An online LPN to RN program could give you the flexibility to study on your own time to help gain more education and knowledge and advance your career. When it comes to online LPN to RN programs, however, not all degrees are equal. First, you must learn how to find the best program for you that will help you achieve your goal of becoming an RN.

Sometimes LPN to RN programs are offered at community colleges, where you learn about the RN license, then you sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure. However, many of the LPN to RN programs at community colleges are campus-based, not online.

Online LPN to RN programs are typically offered through test prep companies. Below is a sponsored featured Online LPN to RN program currently accepting applicants into its preparation program for the LPN to RN.

LPN to RN Program Information

If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse, you are already aware of the work that goes into a career in nursing. You likely also already have the medical and science knowledge necessary to tackle the strenuous nursing school curriculum. You have likely already contacted your state licensing board to determine the requirements necessary for landing an RN license. Now you need to check the accreditation of each school you’re seriously considering to ensure your degree will be honored by your hiring institution and the state licensing board.

As an LPN, you likely also already know that admittance to nursing programs can be highly competitive. You’ll need at least a high school degree or GED for consideration and your high school GPA may be considered. In order to go from LPN, you have several paths, one of which is to pursue an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN). This allows the student to graduate in two to three years and possibly go straight into the workforce. An ADN is all that is required to take the NCLEX to become an RN.

The other path is to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. While this degree path takes longer—four years or more—it is ideal for those planning to advance to administration someday and/or pursue a master’s degree. Having a bachelor’s degree will also help you compete for the best jobs, giving you an edge over the competition.
