RN Programs in Maine

RN programs each have their own requirements for admission to their programs. Students are encouraged to apply at least one year before they hope to begin classes. This allows time to have records transferred and to complete any entry test that is required. BSN programs require SAT or ACT tests with minimum scores of 1000 on the SAT or 20 on the ACT in most circumstances.

The following programs take two years to complete, and they lead to an Associate in Science in Nursing (ASN). Community colleges in Maine expect applicants to be a high school graduate. RN programs usually offer an exit option after one year of studies. At that time, the student may leave the program as a Practical Nurse. If the student continues and graduates from the two-year program, the student will have an Associate of Science in Nursing.
