The Nurse Anesthesia program requires experience shadowing a CRNA and a minimum of one year of clinical experience.

The nursing masters program at Carlow University offers several Nurse Practitioner specializations. Classes in the MSN program are held in the evenings and during the day. The RN to MSN program can be completed in as little as two years or up to four years depending on how many courses a nursing student takes each semester. Several nursing masters tracks are available online, though campus-based tracks are also offered. In general, to be admitted to the Master of Science in Nursing program, a nurse should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree earned with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 are considered on a case by case basis. Certain programs, such as the Nurse Anesthesia and Nurse Practitioner tracks require years of experience in specific areas and Graduate Record Exam scores. In certain cases, letters of reference should also come from specific individuals.

Duquesne University is a private university affiliated with the Catholic faith. The university is based in Pittsburgh. Duquesne University was originally named Pittsburgh Catholic College when it was founded in 1878.
The nursing programs at Duquesne University are offered online. Students in the nursing program can choose from a specialization as a Nurse Educator, Forensic Nurse or Family Nurse Practitioner. Though nursing programs are delivered online, students must attend a two-day campus-based orientation. Additionally, students who choose to enroll in certain courses are required to come to campus to complete coursework. Applicants to the nursing masters program at Duquesne should have a 3.0 QPA or above. Before beginning the RN to MSN portion of the program, students should have a minimum of one year experience working as a nurse. Other prerequisites for the nursing program include completion of a course in statistics. Certain tracks also require t a physical assessment course. In some cases, students may be required to have an interview with a nursing faculty member.

A CCNE-accredited MSN is offered at Eastern Mennonite University’s School of Nursing. A Leadership and School Nursing and Leadership and Management track are offered at the university. Students in the program can pursue a part or full time plan of study as the program was designed with working nurses in mind. Most clinical requirements for the program can be completed in the student’s workplace.
Students in the Leadership and Management track are prepared for the certification exam in their area of study. Students in the School Nursing track are prepared for the Pennsylvania certification required by the Department of Education. Applicants to the nursing masters program should have at least 2,080 hours of career experience as a nurse, which is equivalent to approximately one year of full-time work. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing earned with a 3.0 GPA or above is required for the program.
Career opportunities for RN to MSN students in the management track include being a unit manager, supervisor or even holding a faculty role in a nursing education program. Nurses in the School Nursing track usually go on to work in school settings and may also hold faculty roles.

The post-secondary institution is based in Pennsylvania, not to be confused with the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Edinboro University was founded in 1857 and has campuses in Erie, Edinboro and Meadville.
Edinboro University offers a nursing masters program in collaboration with Clarion University. Courses in the nursing masters program are offered at Clarion University. In addition to submitting an application, students are required to attend an on campus interview for the MSN program. The nursing department website lists the approximate dates for the admission interviews. Admission to the Master of Science in Nursing program is competitive and at minimum, applicants should have a QPA of 2.75 or above. In addition to holding a BSN qualification, applicants to the nursing program should have at least one year of full time work experience (two years of part-time experience).

Excela Health was founded in 2004. The merger of three hospitals in Westmoreland County resulted in the creation of Excela Health. The three hospital locations include Westmoreland, Latrobe and Frick. In 1955, the first class of nurses graduated from the Anesthesia School.
Excela Health’s Anesthesia School offers a Master of Health Science program focused on Nurse Anesthesia. The nursing masters program can be completed in just over 27 months. Holy Family University is a Roman Catholic post-secondary institution founded in 1945. The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth founded the institution. In addition to the main campus in Philadelphia, other campuses are located in Newtown and Bensalem.
Three CCNE-accredited nursing programs are offered at Holy Family University. Aspiring MSNs may enroll in a Community Health Nursing, Nursing Education or Nursing Administration MSN program. The nursing masters program curriculum is interdisciplinary and each specialization is 39 credits of study, including core courses.
To apply to the nursing program applicants should have a Bachelor of Science degree from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program at a regionally accredited college or university. A prerequisite course in statistics is required before students begin graduate study and must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher. Provisional admission is offered in some cases for applicants with a GPA below 3.0. Applicants offered provisional admission must earn a GPA of 3.0 in six credits of graduate coursework.

The university, also referred to as IUP is located in the city of Indiana in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Indiana University of Pennsylvania was established in 1875.
