The school of nursing offers quite a few internal scholarships, both full and partial. A total of 6 full tuition scholarships are offered each year. These monies are available to full time students only.

Velma Files Anderson Scholarship
This scholarship, available through the Heartland Foundation, is given to a senior nursing student who demonstrates clinical and academic excellence. The applicant must be attending an approved school of nursing on a full time basis.
Eligibility includes residing within the Heartland area of Missouri, Iowa, Kansas or Nebraska

Vermont State Grange Alice Cossingham Scholarship
The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) offers the Vermont State Grange Alice Cossingham Scholarship to encourage Vermont students to enter the field of nursing. The VSAC was established in 1965 to help residents of Vermont who want to go to college, by providing loans, grants, scholarships and education planning. The eligible candidate must be a resident of Vermont enrolled in a nursing program at an accredited college, university, or school of nursing that is approved for federal Title IV funding. Selection is based on academic achievement, community service and financial need.

Veterans Affairs Fellowship Programs
The United States department of Veterans Affairs provides fellowships through their Associated Health Education Program. You may also access funds through their pre and post doctoral fellowships.
Eligibility will include the student’s commitment to working with and providing nursing services to U.S veterans.

Virginia C. Phillips Scholarship Fund
The South Carolina Nurses Foundation provides several awards and scholarships to nursing student each year, including the Virginia C. Phillips Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a student who will be focusing their career in the field of Public Health and Community Health nursing

Virginia Henderson Clinical Research Grant
The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing offers the Virginia Henderson Clinical Research Grant to encourage registered nurses to complete research in nursing. The eligible candidate must be a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing degree. The candidate must also be actively involved in heath care education, research or delivery in a clinical setting. The candidate must be a member of Sigma Theta Tau International.

Virginia Nurse Educator Scholarship Program
This scholarship from the Virginia Department of Health provides a scholarship of $20,000 per year, for two years, towards a Masters or Doctoral program where the recipient plans on becoming a teacher of nursing practice.
The recipient must be willing to teach for 2 years for each year of funding received within the state of Virginia.

Virginia’s Nurse Practitioner Nurse Midwife Scholarship Program
The Virginia Department of Health offers several scholarships each year. Applicants may be enrolled in a nursing program, either full time or part time.
Eligibility includes a grade point average of at least 3.0. They must also be willing to work in an underserviced area for 1 year for each year of funding received.

Viva Campbell Nursing Scholarship
The Henry County Community Foundation offers the Viva Campbell Nursing Scholarship to encourage Indiana women to enter the field of nursing. It was established by Viva Campbell, a Henry County resident who was a nurse for many years. The eligible candidate must be a female senior at New Castle High School who plans to pursue a degree in nursing. The candidate must have a GPA of at least 2.0 and demonstrate financial need.

Vocational Nurse Scholarship, Licensed Vocational Nurse Loan Repayment, LVN to ADN
The Health Professions Education Foundation offers the Vocational Nurse Scholarship, Licensed Vocational Nurse Loan Repayment, LVN to ADN to encourage licensed vocational nurses to pursue an Associate Degree in Nursing, and to increase the number of Registered Nurses practicing in medically underserved areas of California. The eligible candidate must be enrolled in an accredited vocational nursing program or must be a licensed vocational nurse graduate who is practicing direct patient care. Award recipients must be willing to practice in California after graduation, providing full-time direct patient care in a medically underserved area.
