The United Daughters of the Confederacy offers the Phoebe Pember Memorial Scholarship to provide financial assistance to descendants of Confederates who wish to pursue careers in nursing.

The eligible candidate must be a direct descendant of a Confederate who served in the Confederate Army, Navy or Civil Service.  The candidate must be a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy or the Children of the Confederacy.  The candidate must also be enrolled in a nursing program at an accredited college or university in the United States and have a GPA of at least 3.0.

Pell Grant
The Medcenter One College of Nursing offers the Pell Grant through the Federal Pell Grant Program.
The Pell Grant Program provides grants to low-income, undergraduate students to encourage higher education.  The eligible candidate must be a part- or full-time undergraduate student, enrolled in Medcenter One College of Nursing.  The candidate must demonstrate financial need.  The amount of the grant is based on whether the student is part- or full-time, the cost of attending Medcenter One College of Nursing and the student’s financial need.

Pierson Scholarship
The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation offers the Pierson Scholarship to encourage students in the Charleston, West Virginia area to pursue careers in nursing.  The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation was established in 1962 to help improve the lives of residents of the Kanawha Valley area.  The eligible candidate must be a resident of West Virginia and must be an undergraduate enrolled at the University of Charleston seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program Scholarship
The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Foundation offers the Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program Scholarship to improve oncology nursing by assisting registered nurses with financial support. The ONS is a professional organization of nurses and other healthcare providers who are committed to patient care, research and education in oncology nursing.  The eligible candidate must be a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing degree, must be committed to oncology nursing, and must be enrolled in or applying to a post-masters nurse practitioner certificate program.

Mount Carmel College of Nursing offers the Presidential Scholarship to encourage students to pursue careers in nursing.  The eligible student must be an undergraduate enrolled in the Mount Carmel College of Nursing.  The candidate must have a high school GPA of at least 3.5 and an ACT score of at least 25.  The candidate must also be able to show community service involvement and leadership qualities.  Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.
