Educational Gratuity Program
The Pennsylvania Bureau for Veterans Affairs offers the Educational Gratuity Program to provide financial assistance to children of honorably discharged veterans who have 100% permanent disabilities that are related to military service or children of veterans who died in service.

The eligible candidate must be between the ages of 16 and 23, have lived in Pennsylvania five years prior to application.  The candidate must also be enrolled in a college or university in Pennsylvania and demonstrate financial need.

Edward J. and Virginia M. Routhier Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is available through the Rhode Island Foundation.  Funds of $500 to $3,000 may be awarded to a registered nurse enrolled in a nursing baccalaureate program within the state of Rhode Island. Edward T. Conroy Memorial Scholarship Program

This scholarship is available through the Maryland Higher Education Commission.  Awards of up to $9,000 will be given to students attending a 2 or 4 year college or university degree program.  If you are seeking a nursing education, and are related to United States Forces veteran, killedor disabled in the line of duty, you may qualify for this scholarship.

Edward T. Goldstein Scholarship Fund

This is one of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing internal scholarships. It was set up by Mr. Goldstein’s wife, as a memorial to him. It is considered a partial scholarship.

Eligibility includes enrolled in the university’s nursing program as a full time student, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  This scholarship may also be dependent on financial need.

Edwina Foye Award for Outstanding Graduate

Offered through the Foundation for Seacoast Health this award is given to a a graduate or undergraduate student studying in the health care field, such as for a nursing degree, who is also a resident of the Seacoast area of New Hampshire. Edwina Foye herself was a nurse who worked 25 years at the Portsmouth Hospital.

Eligibility includes being a resident of one of several select communities in the area. Academic standings and a higher GPA will count toward the applicants eligibility.

E. Eugene Waide, M.D. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available through the Amarillo Area Foundation.  Dr Waide’s family has set up this fund to help interested students pursue a career in nursing or medicine.

Eligibility includes a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.  The applicant must also have attended high school in the counties of Ochiltree, Hansford, Hutchinson, Roberts or Hemphill.

The Eight and Forty Lung and Respiratory Disease Nursing Scholarship Fund

The American Legion also offers funds for a current Registered Nurse seeking advanced education. This is awarded to a Registered Nurse seeking advanced education in Pediatric ling and respiratory control. Upon completion they must have a full-time position in an area of nursing that has a direct relationship to this cause. The amount awarded is $3,000

The Eight and Forty Lung and Respiratory Disease Nursing Scholarship Fund

This is a $3,000 scholarship offered through the American Legion to help nurses advance their training in areas of supervision, administration and teaching.  Upon completion of training their work must be in the area of pediatric lung and respiratory disease control.

Eitzen Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is available through the Sinclair School of Nursing.  The funds are given to undergraduate nursing students who are presently in, or have completed their first clinical course.

Eligibility includes preference for a female nursing student, as this was in Ms Eitzen’s last will and testament.  The school however is flexible on this point.

Eleanor Duncan Nursing Scholarship

The Conway Regional Health Foundation sponsors several health field scholarships, including nursing studies. This scholarship is for $1,000 and may be used to help cover the cost of tuition and books, and room and board as necessary.

Eligibility includes being an employee, or family member of an employee, enrolled in full time nursing studies geared toward cancer nursing.  Grades will count toward eligibility.

Mount Carmel College of Nursing offers the Eleanor Wilson Academic Scholarship to provide students with financial assistance to encourage them to continue their undergraduate nursing education.  The eligible student must be enrolled in the Mount Carmel College of Nursing and have completed one year of full-time study each semester.  The candidate must have maintained a GPA of at least 3.7 at the end of each year.  Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Elenor M. Olson Scholarship
Rhode Island College offers the Elenor M. Olson Scholarship to honor Eleanor Olson who was a 1943 graduate of The Memorial School of Nursing. During her 40 years at Memorial Hospital, Elenor Olson served as the Alumni Association President, Head Nurse of the Emergency Unit and Employees’ Health Nurse.  The eligible candidate must be a resident of Rhode Island, have a GPA of at least 2.5 and must be entering the sophomore, junior or senior year at the Rhode Island College nursing program. Preference will be given to candidates who are descendants of graduates of the former Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

Elizabeth Garde National Scholarship

This scholarship in the amount of $850 is available from the Danish Sisterhood of America to a student pursuing a degree in nursing. The Sisterhood is a national organization which has 48 lodges, in 7 districts, across the United States and in Canada. Please note preference is given to first time recipients.

Eligibility includes membership with, or a family member of, the Danish Sisterhood. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher is also required for this particular scholarship.

Elizabeth J. Davis Scholarship
The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation offers the Elizabeth J. Davis Scholarship to assist home care professionals with obtaining advanced degrees and to assist students seeking bachelors or associate degrees in a health profession. The eligible candidate must be a resident of Vermont who is studying for a degree in a health care profession and plans to work in home care in Vermont.  The candidate must be enrolled in a certified college and must be studying nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or medical social work.

Ella McKinney Scholarship
The Oregon Student Access Commission offers the Ella McKinney Scholarship to encourage Oregon students to pursue careers in nursing.  The eligible candidate must be a graduate of an Oregon high school, enrolled in an Oregon college accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).  Preference is given to undergraduate students entering the senior year of study or graduate students in the final year of study.

Ellen Burge Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Scholarship

Established by the University of Missouri’s Sinclair School of Nursing for its senior year full-time students who will do practical training in a neonatal intensive care.

 

Ellen Sheppard Scholarship Fund
The Southwest Florida Community Foundation offers the Ellen Sheppard Scholarship Fund to encourage students to pursue careers in nursing and art.  The Scholarship was established to honor Ellen Sheppard, an award-winning artist and community leader , who is devoted to teaching art to the elderly and to sick children.  The eligible candidate must be a Lee County high school senior or a graduate enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in nursing or art.

(The) Emergency Nurses Association

The ENA offers several scholarships each year, both for continuing education and academic.  Available scholarships are posted on their web site each year beginning in February.

In 2011, ten continuing education scholarships were given out to help emergency nurses attend the ENA Leadership Conference in New Orleans In February.

Academic Scholarships available will be posted in February. There are a limited number usually available.  Each requires the recipients to hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  The applicants must also be enrolled in an approved nursing program, plus be an ENA member.

Endeavor Foundation

This foundation provides funding for many organizations, and many reasons, for people in northwest Arkansas.  The funds come from local business, state citizens and other contributors.

Certain scholarship dollars are provided to graduating high school seniors of particular schools in Arkansas. To find out if your school is funded, simply visit your guidance office, or visit the foundations web site for more information.

Many of the scholarships and funds are focused on health initiatives, including helping graduating high school seniors attend nursing school.

The Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. offers the Estelle Massey Osborne Scholarship to provide financial support to African American students who wish to pursue a career in nursing.  The eligible candidate must be an African American registered nurse who is a member of a professional nursing association.  The candidate must be enrolled in or applying to a full-time master’s degree program in nursing approved by the National League for Nursing and CCNE.

Esther Brooks Moloney Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Clemson University offers the Esther Brooks Moloney Endowed Nursing Scholarship to honor Esther Brooks Moloney.  Esther Brooks Moloney received her nursing degree from Presbyterian Hospital  in Chicago in 1935 and subsequently had a distinguished career as a nurse for over 40 years.  The eligible candidate must be a nursing student at Clemson University with a GPA of at least 2.5 and who demonstrates financial need.
