Akron General Nursing – Service League Nursing Scholarship
The Akron General Medical Center provides scholarship funds to students enrolled in an accredited school of nursing, Baccalaureate program, with in the state of Ohio. Alexander Graham Bell College Scholarship Awards
The Alexander Graham Bell Association provides scholarships to students enrolled full-time in undergraduate or graduate degree programs. Even those who are hearing impaired can still seek out a career in nursing. With so many fields of nursing, there are many opportunities available.
Funds available range from $1,000 – $10,000
Eligibility includes students who are deaf or hard of hearing. It is a very competitive merit-based scholarship so need has little bearing on eligibility. Hearing loss must be moderate to profound, bilateral, and diagnosed in early childhood.

A.C.N.M. Foundation Scholarships

American Council of the Blind Scholarship
This scholarship is offered by the American Council of the Blind. Students wishing to enter in to the nursing field are eligible. Keep in mind though there may be some restrictions as to how and where you may practice as a nurse if deemed legally blind, there are still opportunities available.
If the blindness occurs during your nursing career, limiting your practice, then this is a scholarship you could seek to re-educate yourself in another field or career.

American Holistic Nurses Association Research Grant
The AHNA awards research grant monies to AHNA members including doctoral students, who wish to conduct research on any topic related to holistic nursing and healthcare. Grants are for $5,000 or less. (The) American Legion Department of Arkansas
The American Legion has always believed in strong school systems and good education for youth. Therefore, in partnership with several other organizations, several scholarships are made available to students wishing to seek higher education. They offer 4 scholarships, each in the amount of $2,000 paid in two installments. Undergraduate or higher studies in nursing will definitely be considered.

The American Legion Department of New Jersey – Scholarship

American Nephrology Nurse’s Association
The ANNA has a number of scholarships and grants available to nurses for career mobility, clinical practice and research. These funds run generally from $1,000 to $2,500. Eligibility differs somewhat for each, but membership in the ANNA is a constant.
Career Mobility Scholarships

ANA – Minority Fellowship Program
This funding is available to Master prepared nurses wishing to focus their career in the area of mental illness prevention and treatment, as well as substance abuse.
There are two separate fellowships offered, one pre-Doctoral and one post-Doctoral. The pre-Doctoral is for nurses studying “minority psychiatric mental health and substance abuse; it is a 3 – 5 year support. The post-Doctoral is a 1- 2 year fellowship assisting nurses to strengthen their research skills and expand on their depth of knowledge and understanding of issues in mental health and substance abuse.
Eligibility for both includes being a member of the ANA as well as an ethnic/racial minority group.

The Oncology Nursing Society Foundation offers the Ann Olson Memorial Doctoral Scholarship to improve oncology nursing by assisting registered nurses in completing their nursing education. The United States Army provides great opportunities for persons wishing to become health care professionals. They have specific opportunities for those wishing to become nurses. Nurses’ training is fully funded, and the student also receives a living allowance during training.

Undergraduate Health Care Education – Active Nurse Corps Program
Students pursuing a BSN will receive $5,000 at the beginning of their program and upon graduating. They also receive $1,000 monthly allowance.
Reserve Nurse Corps Program
This is open to students who already posses an RN degree and are seeking to advance their education to a BSN level. Students receive a monthly allowance of $1,900 and upon graduation are expected to serve a one year term in the Army Reserve
ROTC for Nursing Students
These scholarships are offered for 2, 3 and 4 year programs. Enrolling in the ROTC and doing your nursing training through them can open up many new learning experiences for nurses. It is also nice not to have to worry about tuition costs so much; allowing you to concentrate on your nursing training instead.

The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing offers the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) Grant to increase the number of nurses conducting HIV/AIDS research that is focused on symptom management, HIV prevention and self-care.
