The New Mexico campus of Brookline College is based in the city of Albuquerque. Additional campuses are located in the state of Arizona in the cities of Phoenix, Tucson and Tempe. There is an additional campus in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as a result of the merger between Brookline College and Oklahoma Technology Institute. The college was established in 1979 as Arizona Institute of Business and Technology.
The Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSNE) program offered at Brookline College is available completely online. In addition to courses in curriculum and pedagogy, the nursing masters program offers two practicum courses focused on teaching and academic leadership. The 36 credit Masters of Science in Nursing Education program requires 660 hours of study.
Admission requirements to the MSNE program include current licensure as an RN in a US State or Territory and a Bachelor of Science degree with a nursing major from a program recognized by the US Department of Education. Students with the foreign of equivalent of a bachelors degree in nursing may also be considered.
Students with previous nursing graduate study should note that up to half of the credits required for the nursing masters program may be transferred from a previous institution, though at least 18 credits must be earned in the MSNE program at Brookline College.

New Mexico State University is one of two major public universities in the state of New Mexico. The university is based in the city of Las Cruces. Founded in 1888 as Las Cruces College, the institution was originally founded as an agriculture-based learning institution. Today, the university serves over 18,000 students. In addition to the campus in Las Cruces, additional campuses are located in Grants, Alamogordo, Carlsbad and Grants among other cities. The university also has several extension centers.
New Mexico State University offers two nursing masters program. The Roadrunner program is a general MSN program, while the MSN Administration program is a pathway specifically for nurses seeking an administrative career in the healthcare setting. Though the nursing masters programs are delivered online, students are required to attend on on-campus orientation annually for three to four days.
To apply to the RN to MSN Nursing Administration program, entrance requirements include a bachelors degree in nursing and a nursing license. The Roadrunner MSN is designed for students with a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing. Applicants to the Roadrunner MSN should have a bachelor’s degree earned with a 3.0 or higher GPA. The Roadrunner MSN provides training for students to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing.

Nursing masters programs offered at the University of New Mexico are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The nursing masters program offers varied specialization options for nurses pursuing a career in administration, education or an advanced practice role. In addition to several MSN specializations, nursing masters students may also pursue a dual degree in Public Health or Public Administration, the MSN/MPH and MSN/MPA respectively.

Applicants who are current residents of the state of New Mexico are currently given admission preference in the nursing masters program. Admission requirements to the nursing masters program include a bachelors degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last two years of undergraduate study. For most concentrations, students should also have at least one year of career experience as a nurse. In certain cases in which applicants don’t meet entrance requirements for the nursing masters program, they may still apply. The committee makes admission decisions to the RN to MSN program on a case-by-case basis.
