The University of New Hampshire is based in Durham, New Hampshire. A public research university, the University of New Hampshire Durham is one of three campuses in the University of New Hampshire system, the other is the University of New Hampshire Manchester and the School of Law is located in Concord. Established in 1866, more than 14,000 students are enrolled at the Durham campus alone.
The Department of Nursing at the University of New Hampshire offers bachelors and masters degree programs. The nursing department offers opportunities for real-world practice including study abroad courses in Africa and the opportunity to participate in clinics.
The University of New Hampshire is in the process of developing its first DNP program. The program will be for masters prepared nurses, though an option for bachelors prepared nurses may be offered in the future. The DNP program at the UNH Department of Nursing is prepared according to the guidelines of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Prospective applicants to the UNH DNP program should contact the Department of Nursing to receive notifications about the development of the DNP program. Updates about the DNP program will be posted on the University of New Hampshire nursing department website. The DNP program started on January 2013.
