Nebraska Methodist College

Nebraska Methodist College first began as a nursing school in 1891.  The college offers associate’s through master’s level degree programs in addition to professional and certificate programs.  Though a small institution with just over 700 students, over 400 credit and non-credit programs are offered.  Nebraska Methodist College maintains its relationship with the United Methodist Church to this day and offers a variety of nursing and allied health programs.

Online  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

The online Registered Nurse to Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree program at Nebraska Methodist College allows registered nurses the opportunity to pursue advanced education and career opportunities or pursue an advanced education to move into research, teaching, consulting and management.  Core courses for the program include Health Assessment for RNs, Principles of Research, Collaborative Nursing Leadership in a Global Society, Community Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing Practicum and Complexity in Nursing.  There is also a specialized option for NMH nurses.

Duration and Cost

Upon completion of prerequisites the 60 credit RN to BSN course can be completed in 18 months.  Tuition and fees are $545 per credit hour including books.

Online Master’s Degree in Nursing

Nebraska Methodist College offers RN to MSN and Master’s of Science in Nursing degree programs.  Courses in the program include Advanced Nursing Roles & Phenomena, Measurement and Statistical Concepts for Data Interpretation and Issues in Advanced Nursing Roles.

Duration and Cost

The RN to MSN course can be completed in approximately 3 years and requires 18 bridge credits and 36 credits towards the MSN degree.  The online traditional master’s degree program is 2 years in length and 36 credits.  Tuition and fees are $645 per credit hour including books.

Online Certificates in Nursing

The online Post-Master’s Certificate- Nursing Executive educates nurses with a master’s degree to obtain the education and training necessary to advance into leadership positions.  Courses in the program are Organizational Behavioral and Structure, Role of the Nurse Executive III: Financial Management & Economics, Role of the Nurse Executive 1: Leading an Organization and Practicum: Management, Improvement & Evaluation in Healthcare Organizations.

The online Post-Masters Certificate-Nursing Educator prepares nurses desiring to teach nurses in a clinical or didactic setting.  As part of the training, students will be required to develop a course online.

The certification requires 14 credits to completion and can be completed in one year. Tuition and fees are $645 per credit hour including books.
