These programs offer an entry level education into the nursing field. Lurleen Wallace Community College is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Completion of these programs does not guarantee graduates the right to take the national licensing exam, but does make them eligible to apply to take the exam. With knowledgeable and qualified instructors that add a level of experience to the instruction they provide, the program has received favorable feedback from graduates of their nursing programs.
Practical Nursing (LPN) Certificate Program
This program has a proven track record with outstanding state board grades, has exceptional lab facilities, and has received positive comments from employers who have hired graduates from this institution. Graduates of this program, after being accepted and passing the national licensure exam are eligible to work in a variety of medical institutions including hospitals, private duty opportunities, doctor’s offices, public school systems, home health agencies, and many more. Students are required to complete clinical experiences in local medical facilities in order to complete the program. Four semesters of full time study are required in order to obtain this certificate.
