The program provides instruction in the delivery of nursing care for patients no matter where they are within their lifespan. Students receive a range of clinical experiences through placements that are arranged with the cooperation of hospitals, clinics, care homes and other health care providers in the area.
The clinical experiences are combined with the following curriculum of education over the course of the three-semester long course –Mathematical Applications, Body Structure & Function, Fundamentals of Nursing, Health Assessment, Introduction to Pharmacology, College Orientation, English Composition, Nursing, Maternal & Child Nursing, Adult/Child Nursing, Psychosocial Nursing and Role Transition for the PN
Students who satisfactorily complete the PN program are subsequently prepared to write the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing).
