Central Alabama Community College Nursing Program Review

Central Alabama Community College (CACC) is the creation of the combination of Alexander City State Junior College and Nunnelley State Technical College in 1989. This college offers two different campus locations in Alexander City and Childersburg. This community college now offers a place of academic advancement to central Alabama that has that close to home feeling with caring and attentive professors and other professionals to assist its students in becoming bright and well informed additions to the work force.

Central Alabama Community College Nursing Programs Review

Central Alabama Community College offers three types of nursing programs at their facilities. Programs include ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) – RN, PN (Practical Nursing), and LPN to RN Mobility Program. Each program offers a specialized training and classroom instruction for the students’ particular educational path leading to becoming a vital member of the health care profession of nursing. Central Alabama Community College is one of the top community colleges in Alabama. The Associate Degree Nursing Program is sanctioned and approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing and is accredited through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission in Atlanta. The PN Program is sanctioned by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Associate Nursing Degree – RN

This degree program offers students the most current technological training in the field of nursing as well as instruction by certified faculty. The courses taken in this program let the student advance their knowledge of the practices and communications used on a daily basis as a RN (Registered Nurse). Graduates of this degree program will be eligible for to write the licensure examination and pursue employment in a health care facility upon successful completion of said exam. This program requires five terms of full time study for completion. A combination of basic educational courses and nursing specific courses make up the entirety of this program.

Practical Nursing – PN

Central Alabama Community College’s Practical Nursing Program is intended to prepare students to enter the health care field with the awareness and understanding of nursing practices required to provide excellent care for patients of all ages. Graduates of this program will be equipped with the most current knowledge and skills for employment. They may also be authorized to take the national exam or the NCLEX-PN. The program is designed to be a three term full time program that includes teaching the student terms and ideas of the nursing profession as well as educating them on the role they are about to fulfill.

LPN to RN Mobility Program

This program is designated to provide existing LPNs a way to advance in their career in the nursing profession. Students can complete this program in three to four terms of full time study. Upon successful completion of the program students can be eligible to take the national exam for licensure as a RN. This allows the student to take their career to the next level with the required education and the experience already acquired by them as an LPN.
