How do I become a registered nurse in Louisiana?
In order to become a registered nurse in Louisiana, you must graduate from a school with a nursing program recognized by the Louisiana Board of Nursing, which include ADN programs. Louisiana ADN programs require only two to three years of formal education. Upon your successful completion of a Louisiana ADN program, you will be required to register for, take and pass the national licensing exam for nurses, which is referred to as the NCLEX-RN. Once that is done, and your application is approved, your license will be issued and you will be ready to start working in Louisiana.
