Linfield College is a private college located in McMinnville, Oregon, with a second location in Portland.  Founded in 1858, it was originally called the Baptist College at McMinnville. The school’s name was changed in 1922 after Frances Ross Linfield donated a significant amount of real estate to the school.

Today Linfield offers 47 majors through 3 academic divisions and enrolls over 1,600 students. The Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing is located on the Portland campus.  It offers the Accelerated BSN program which is a 15-month program that culminates in the awarding of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.  To qualify for this accelerated BSN degree program the student must have already earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing and must have completed the 8 prerequisite classes.

The Oregon Health & Science University is a public health sciences institution located in Portland, Oregon with a second campus in Hillsboro.  It was founded in 1974 as the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center when the state combined its nursing, medicine and dentistry programs. Today the Oregon Health & Science University includes a School of Dentistry, School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing, and enrolls over 3,900 students. The School of Nursing offers the Accelerated BS program for students who already have a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing.  This 2nd degree BSN program allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after 5 quarters, beginning in the summer term.  To qualify for this ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program, the student must also have completed the 6 prerequisite classes. The application deadline is in January.
