The School of Nursing and Allied Health offers three tracks for earning the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The Accelerated BSN program allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after 4 semesters of full-time classroom and clinical work. Clinicals take place in hospitals and clinics in and around the Pineville community. In keeping with its mission of faith-based learning, service opportunities are available at Enterprise Baptist Church, the Working People’s Free Clinic, and the Manna House. To qualify for this BSN accelerated nursing degree program, the student must have already earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing and must have completed the prerequisite classes. There are typically 40 students enrolled in this 2nd degree BSN program.

Louisiana State University is a public health sciences institution located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1931, it is now home to 6 schools: the School of Public Health, the School of Medicine, the School of Allied Health Professions, the School of Graduate Studies, the School of Dentistry, and the School of Nursing. The Career Alternative RN Education program allows students to earn a BSN degree after less than 2 years of full-time classroom and clinical work. The College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers the Accelerated Track for earning the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after 2 years of full-time classroom and clinical work. To qualify for this ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree program, the student must have already earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing and must have completed the prerequisite classes. Portions of this second degree accelerated BSN program occur at both the Hammond and Baton Rouge campuses. The application deadline is in September for spring admission and February for summer admission.
