Bellarmine University is a private Catholic school located on a 135-acre campus in Louisville, Kentucky. Named after Cardinal Saint Robert Bellarmine, it was founded in 1950 by Archbishop John A. Floersh. Bellarmine is organized into 6 schools and college, annually enrolls over 3,200 students, and offers degrees in over 50 undergraduate and graduate majors.

The Donna and Allan Lansing School of Nursing and Health Sciences offers multiple health science programs, including undergraduate and graduate nursing degree programs. The Accelerated Second Degree BSN program is designed for students who have earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing. This ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program is 12-months long, divided into 3 14-week semesters. During the program students attend classes two to three days a week and are in clinical settings two to three days a week. To qualify for this accelerated BSN program, the applicant must have a bachelors degree and must have completed the 6 prerequisite classes prior to matriculation. The application deadline is in March.

Eastern Kentucky University is a public school located on an 880- acre campus in Richmond, Kentucky, with 6 additional regional campuses and centers. Eastern Kentucky University was founded in 1874 as Central University. In 1922 it became known as Eastern Kentucky State Normal School and Teachers College, and in 1966 the name was changed to Eastern Kentucky University. The nursing program at Eastern has been in existence for over 35 years, providing nursing professionals to the local community, including rural Appalachia. The 2nd Degree BSN Option allows qualified students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after 21 months of intensive classwork and clinicals. To qualify for this BSN accelerated program, the applicant must have a bachelors degree and must have completed the 5 prerequisite science and statistics classes prior to admission. Northern Kentucky University is a public school located on a 390- acre campus in Highland Heights, Kentucky, 11 miles southeast of Cincinnati, Ohio. The Department of Nursing is part of the College of Health Professions and has clinical affiliations with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, and other distinguished health care facilities in and around Cincinnati. The Accelerated BSN program is designed for bachelor degree holding students who want to transition to nursing careers. This BSN accelerated program is rigorous in that it incorporates the traditional 3 years of BSN degree coursework into 16 months of full-time study. The admission requirements include having completed the following prerequisite coursework: Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Healthcare Informatics, Nutrition, Introductory Statistics, and Growth and Development. Spalding University is a private, Catholic university located in Louisville, Kentucky. Founded in 1814, Spalding University is affiliated with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and is named after Catherine Spalding, the founder of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Today Spalding University prides itself on offering an innovative mixture of traditional learning environments with service and distance learning opportunities. The School of Nursing is one of the oldest nursing schools in Kentucky. It was one of the first nursing schools to offer the two year RN to BSN weekend only college program and now also offers the 2nd Degree BSN program. This accelerated BSN program is designed for students with a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing, who would like to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The traditional BSN classroom and clinical curriculum is adapted to an accelerated schedule consisting of 8 6-week sessions. Both day and night class schedules are available. To qualify for this program the applicant must have completed the 9 prerequisite science classes. The application deadline is in November of each year.

The University of Kentucky (UK) is a public school located on a 800- acre campus in Lexington, Kentucky. UK was founded in 1865 by John Bowman as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky. It is now the largest university in Kentucky and, according to U.S. News and World Report, is the highest ranked research university in the state. The College of Nursing was created in 1960 in response to the shortage in Kentucky. The Second Degree BSN option is available to students who have earned a bachelors degree in a non-nursing field. The program involves five semesters of intensive full-time study, culmination in the receiving the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. To qualify for this BSN accelerated program, the applicant must have a bachelors degree and must have completed the prerequisite classes prior to admission. The application deadline is in March.

The University of Louisville is a public university located in Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1798 as the Jefferson Seminary. Over the years the university evolved from Jefferson Seminary to Louisville Medical Institute and finally, in 1846, the Kentucky legislature renamed and reconfigured the institution into the University of Louisville. The University of Louisville School of Nursing, located in the health sciences center, offers a variety of undergraduate academic programs that lead to becoming a registered nurse. The Accelerated 2nd Degree Program is for students who have already earned a bachelors degree in a different field. Students first take the prerequisite courses in the Lower Division, followed by taking the nursing courses in the Upper Division. This accelerated BSN program takes 2 years to complete. The application deadlines for the Lower Division are in April, July and December. The deadline for the Upper Division is in March.
