Idaho State University (ISU) is a public institution located in Pocatello, Idaho, with 3 additional campuses throughout the state.  It was founded in 1901 by the Idaho legislature as the Academy of Idaho.  After going through several name changes, in 1963 the school became known as Idaho State University to reflect its growth and expanded curricula.  ISU is now made up of 6 colleges and offers over 285 programs of study.

The Idaho State University School of Nursing is located on ISU’s Meridian campus.  It offers three paths to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, including the Accelerated Nursing Program.  To qualify for this program, the student must already have earned a bachelors degree, but wishes to make a career change.  This 2nd degree BSN program allows the student to earn the BSN degree in 4 semesters.  The student must also have completed the 9 prerequisite classes prior to matriculation.  This intensive ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program accepts only 30 students each year.  The application deadline is in the middle of September for Spring admission.
