Ashland University is a private university located on a 135-acre campus in Ashland, Ohio. It was founded in 1878 by the Brethren Church. The university has expanded its curriculum to offer 73 undergraduate majors and nine pre-professional programs. Nursing education at Ashland University started out in 1919 as a hospital based diploma program at Mansfield General Hospital.

Today the Dwight Shar College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers several options for students to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The Accelerated Track is designed for students who have a non-nursing bachelors degree. This accelerated BSN program allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after 15 months of full-time classroom and clinical work. To qualify for this accelerated BSN degree program, the student must also have completed the prerequisite classes. The application deadline is in March for May entry.

The application deadline for early admission is in January, and the deadline for standard admission is in March.

Wright State University is a public university located in Fairborn, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton, with a satellite campus in Grand Lake Saint Marys State Park. Founded in 1967, Wright State University was originally the Dayton branch campus of both Miami University and Ohio State University. In 1965 the Ohio legislature changed the school into a university independent of Miami University and Ohio State University.
