Even though the general job market is tough, graduates of RN schools in Michigan are able to find gainful employment upon graduation. Registered Nurses (RNs) work with patients in many different settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, factories, and others. Being an RN is a demanding career, but it is also very rewarding. There are two ways to enter this career in the state of Michigan. The first is to complete an Associate Degree RN program. The second way is by completing a Bachelor’s Degree program. Graduates of both types of programs qualify to take the national exam that leads to licensure.

Each RN program has its own requirements for admission. The two-year Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) degree and the four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs urge prospective students to apply to their programs one year in advance. The following RN programs are four-year programs that lead to a BSN. Some of the nursing schools have very high standards and admit only those with top grades from high school. Other programs are not as strict. College preparatory classes must have been completed in high school for most BSN programs, but it is sometimes possible to take these higher level classes as college-level courses before officially entering the RN program. Most BSN programs do require minimum SAT score of 1,000 or ACT score of 20.
