The Family Nurse Practitioner program can be completed in approximately 1 ½ years on a full-time schedule. Tuition and fees for the program range from $20,000 to $32,000 for the first year depending on full or half-time enrollment.

Nursing Education

The nursing education program usually requires a minimum of 1 year RN experience.  The program is ideal for those seeking to use their nursing background to educate the public and train staff or students in a higher education setting.  This program not only teaches nurses how to be educators, but also how to develop courses of their own to be used in vocational and educational research settings.

Duration and Cost

The Nursing Education program can be completed in approximately 1 year and 3 months on a full-time schedule. Tuition and fees for the program range from $22,000 to $30,000 the first year depending on full or half-time enrollment.

Nursing Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

This program focuses on training nurses to be women’s health professionals; providing obstetrics and gynecology care during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, as well as assisting women with general health throughout the lifespan.

The Nursing Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program can be completed in approximately 1 ½ years on a full-time schedule. Tuition and fees for the program range from $20,000 to $32,000 the first year depending on full or half-time enrollment.

Faculty

Georgetown faculty include a Fulbright Scholar and Fellows in the American Academy of Nursing.  Faculty specialties and interests include environmental health, public health, the mental health of immigrant communities, clinical outcomes, nursing workforce, nursing care, and maternal and child health.

Things to consider:

  • This program is not available in all states. Please contact the university to verify your state is eligible.
  • The course requires two campus visits for simulation experiences, but financial aid can be used to cover the cost of travel.

 Georgetown University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, The Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) for the basic certificate and graduate nurse-midwifery education programs for registered nurses and The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the nursing education programs at the baccalaureate and graduate degree levels.
