Norwich University: RN to MSN Program Review
Norwich University, 158 Harmon Drive, Northfield, VT 05663
Norwich University is the oldest military college in the United States. The institution was founded in 1819 and also enrolls civilian students. The campus is approximately 30 minutes from Montpelier, the capital of Vermont.

Norwich University offers accredited online masters degree programs in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education. Both nursing masters degree programs require 36 credits of study. The RN to MSN can be completed in 1.5-2 years of study. In the first semester, nursing students will take core courses, followed by concentration-specific coursework in the second and subsequent semesters. Though delivered mostly online, the Master of Science in nursing program culminates in a week-long residency. It should be noted that the university covers room and board during the residency.

Entrance requirements to the MSN program include a BSN earned with a GPA of 2.75 or above. Applicants are not required to take the Graduate Record Exam or Miller Analogies Test. One year of clinical experience as an RN is required for all applicants to the masters in nursing program. Since a GPA of 3.0 is preferred, applicants with a GPA below 3.0 must have a 3.0 or above in the last 60 credits of the undergraduate program. Prerequisite courses in statistics and research should be completed before enrolling in the program.
