The College of St. Scholastica is a private, Catholic college located on a 186-acre campus in Duluth, Minnesota, on a hill overlooking Lake Superior.  It was founded in 1912 by a group of Benedictine Sisters.

Today, the College of St. Scholastica has expanded to offer over 20 degree programs, while maintaining the Catholic Benedictine values upon which it was founded.  The School of Nursing is one of the largest nursing schools in Minnesota.  For clinical experience students have access to over 100 hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities in both rural and urban settings.  The Post Baccalaureate Nursing Program is designed for students with college degrees in non-nursing majors, who wish to become registered nurses.  It is available on the Duluth campus and online.  This accelerated BSN program allows students to complete the nursing coursework and clinicals in 4 consecutive semesters over 15 months.  To qualify for this 2nd degree  BSN program, the student must also have completed the 7 prerequisite classes with a grade of “C” or better in each.  The application deadline is in November.

Concordia College is a private, Christian institution located on a 113-acre campus in Moorhead, Minnesota.  It was founded in 1891 by Norwegian clergy and laypersons who settled in the area.  Today, it offers a curriculum that integrates Christian and global perspectives.  Concordia College offers 61 majors and 12 pre-professional programs.  The nursing program offers an Accelerated Nursing program that allows students who already have a bachelors degree to add a nursing major to that degree after 18 months of study.  This accelerated program does not lead to second bachelor degree.  To qualify for this ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program, the student must have already earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing and must have completed the prerequisite classes with a grade of “C” or better in each.  The prerequisite courses include:  chemistry, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, general psychology, general sociology, developmental psychology and college algebra.  The application deadline is in February for May entry.
