Montana State University (MSU) is a public university located on a 1,170-acre campus on the south side of Bozeman, Montana. Four additional campuses are located in Bozeman, Great Falls, Kalispell, and Missoula.   Founded in 1893 as the Agricultural College of the State of Montana, in 1965 the Montana State Assembly changed the school’s name to Montana State University in recognition of the its expansion over the years. MSU currently has 9 colleges and offers undergraduate degrees in 51 fields and graduate degrees in 59 fields.

The Montana State University College of Nursing offers programs on all 5 MSU campuses.  The Accelerated BSN degree program was added in 2011 and is available at the Bozeman and Great Falls campuses.  This 2nd degree BSN program allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 15 months.  This ABSN (Accelerated BSN) program is available only to students who already have earned a bachelors degree in a discipline other than nursing.

As this program is designed for students with little to no nursing experience, licensed practical nurses (LPN) and registered nurses (RN) are not encouraged to apply.  In addition to having a bachelors degree, applicants must also have completed the following prerequisite courses:  Introduction to Statistics, Human Nutrition, Lifespan Human Development, Introductory Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to General Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology I w/lab, Anatomy & Physiology II w/lab, Introduction to Organic and Biochemistry Principles and Microbiology for Health Sciences. The application deadline is in June.
