The University of North Dakota is a public institution located in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  Established in 1883 by the Dakota Territorial Assembly, it is the oldest university in North Dakota.  It is now organized into 10 academic divisions and enrolls over 13,000 graduate and undergraduate students.

The College of Nursing at the University of Dakota offers four tracks for earning the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.  The ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program allows students to earn a BSN degree after 3 semesters and 1 summer of full-time classroom and clinical work.  The College of Nursing has clinical affiliations with several hospitals and healthcare facilities in North Dakota as well as in South Dakota, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho and several other states.  To qualify for this 2nd degree accelerated BSN degree program, the student must have already earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing and must have completed the following prerequisite classes:  Microbiology, Chemistry, Organic Biochemistry, Human Anatomy, Physiology, Developmental Psychology, Nutrition, Statistics, and Pharmacology.  The application deadline is in June.
