The Belmont University School of Nursing was established in 1972 and is now located in the Gordon E. Inman College of Health Sciences building. It offers three tracks for earning the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, including the Accelerated 2nd Degree Program. This BSN accelerated nursing program is designed to allow students to earn a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree after 16 months of full-time classroom and clinical work. To qualify for this program the student must have already earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing and must have completed the following prerequisite classes: General Biology or Microbiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, General Psychology, Life Space Development, Abnormal Psychology, Nutrition, Advanced Math, and 2 Religion courses. The application deadline is in January for fall entry.

The University of Memphis is a public institution located in the Normal Station section of Memphis, Tennessee, with a satellite campus in Jackson. Nursing education began at the University of Memphis in 1967 and the program became a school within the University in 1984. In 1988 the school changed its name to the Loewenburg School of Nursing in recognition of the financial support of Mr. William A. and Mrs. Ruth Loewenberg. The School of Nursing offers three tracks for earning the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, including the Accelerated BSN program. This second degree BSN nursing program is only offered at the Memphis campus. It is designed for students who have already earned a college degree and now wish to change careers. This BSN accelerated program requires 16 months of full-time classroom and clinical work. To qualify for this accelerated BSN degree program, the student must also have completed the 9 prerequisite classes. The application deadline is in February.
