To qualify for this accelerated BSN degree program, the student must have already earned a bachelors degree in a field other than nursing and must have completed the prerequisite classes. The application deadline is in February for fall entry and June for spring entry.

The School of Nursing traces its roots to 1893 with the nursing diploma program at the Virginia Hospital Training School. It became a four-year program in 1953.
