LPN Programs In Arizona

Just like the rest of the United States, there’s a growing demand in Arizona for trained healthcare professionals, and one of those professions is the LPN, or Licensed Nurse Practitioner. Training for this profession is relatively short (around one year), and it offers good prospects to newly qualified candidates.

LPN Training in Arizona – What to Expect

If you do decide to train as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner in Arizona, you will need to find a program that’s approved and accredited by the Arizona Board of Nursing.

All of the classes in the program takes about a year to complete, and during that time, you will be expected to train in clinical, theoretical and lab work, in areas such as patient care, medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy and more.

Most accredited LPN programs in Arizona are offered by colleges and community colleges, but always check before you sign up that the program you’re choosing is approved. If you’re in doubt, the Board of Nursing in Arizona should be able to tell you whether the course you’re considering is accredited.

LPN Certification in Arizona

Once you’ve completed your training to become a Licensed Nurse Practitioner, the next step to becoming a fully fledged LPN in Arizona is to pass the NCLEX-PN. Once you have done that, you can apply for inclusion on the Arizona Board of Nursing registry, and accept a job as an LPN at any hospital or medical facility in the state.

There are a few restrictions on who can work as an LPN in the state of Arizona though – for instance, if you have been convicted of a violent crime, or have substance abuse or diagnosed mental health issues, you might not be eligible. Be sure to check whether you are before you spend money on a training course!

Prospects and Earnings for LPN’s In Arizona

Currently, there’s expected to be an increase in the demand for Licensed Nurse Practitioners in Arizona of around 19% over the next few years – which means that there are plenty of jobs in the state for newly qualified LPNs.

LPN’s also earn a relatively high salary, considering the short training period – in fact, at present, the average salary for an LPN in Arizona is around $ 42,000, depending on where you work, and your experience level.

Many LPNs in Arizona and elsewhere also use this as a springboard to other careers in healthcare – with many training as Registered Nurses or moving into hospital administration later on.
