Faye Lynn Roberts Education Scholarship
The Southwest Florida Community Foundation offers the Faye Lynn Roberts Education Scholarship Fund to provide financial support to women pursuing careers in nursing, technical studies, court reporting or computer training.

The eligible candidate must be at least 21 years old and a resident of Lee County, Florida.  The candidate must also be enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree nursing, court reporting or computer training.  Selection will take into consideration financial need.

F. Eugene Tubbs Critical Burn Care Nursing Scholarship
The University of Florida offers the F. Eugene Tubbs Critical Burn Care Nursing Scholarship in memory of F. Eugene Tubbs.  F. Eugene Tubbs, M.D.  was a resident physician at University of Florida’s Shands Hospital and was instrumental in generating funding for the development of a burn unit at Shands.  The eligible candidate must be enrolled in a master’s degree program in the area of adult critical care nursing with specialization in burn care.

Filipino Nurses’ Organization if Hawaii

The Hawaii Community Foundation sponsors over 160 different scholarships.  This particular scholarship is awarded to any student majoring in nursing studies who is of Filipino ancestry.

Finch Family Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is available through the Sinclair School of Nursing.  It is awarded to a full time nursing student attending the University of Missouri, Sinclair School of Nursing.

Internal scholarships through the school of nursing require only one application to be filled out.  If you meet the requirements for a particular scholarship it may be awarded to you.

First Year Nursing Student Scholarship
Cochise College offers the First-Year Nursing Student Scholarship to encourage Arizona residents to pursue careers in nursing by providing financial assistance.  The eligible candidate must be enrolled full-time at the Cochise College Nursing Program pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing.  The eligible candidate must have a GPA of at least 2.0.  Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.  Preference is given to graduates of Buena High School.

Flo Dickey Funk Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is used to assist a nursing student who demonstrates a financial need to complete their studies.  The fund might also be used to provide jobs.  As an endowed fund the school’s Dean may decide exactly how it will be distributed.

Florida Nurses Association – Foundation Scholarships

The Florida Nurses Association provides funding to nurses for scholarships and grant monies for research projects. Eligibility for each scholarship differs slightly so you are advised to visit their web site for more information.

Eligibility for each scholarship differs slightly. Some require higher grade point averages; some require the applicant to live within the district funding the monies. You will also note some scholarships are geared towards nurses who are upgrading or continuing their educational status.

Foundation for Neonatal Research and Education

The foundation offers several nursing scholarships. Nurses should be working in the field of neonatal health. Only one scholarship per applicant in a five year period is allowed.

Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA)

The FNSNA awards yearly grants and scholarships to undergraduate and graduate nursing students across the United States of America. The scholarships are made possible by generous donations from a number of companies; all of which are listed on the foundations web site.

Western Connecticut State University offers the Frances S. Weigler Memorial Nursing Scholarship to encourage students to pursue careers in nursing by providing financial support.  The Scholarship was established in 1989 by family to honor Frances Weigler’s memory.  The eligible candidate must be a sophomore, enrolled in the Nursing Department of Western Connecticut State University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.

The Henry County Community Foundation offers the Francis & Marian Mundell Nursing Scholarship to encourage students in Indiana to pursue careers in nursing.  The eligible candidate must be a graduate of Shenandoah High School and resident of Henry County who plans to pursue a degree in nursing at an accredited college or university.  The candidate must be at least age 24 years old and demonstrate financial need.

Franklin D. Boyce Scholarship

This scholarship is one of many presented through the John Randolph Foundation.  The amount of $2,500 is awarded to a student studying, full time or part time, in nursing, or any other area of health related education.

Franks Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is available through the Oregon Student Access Commission for graduating high school seniors to attend college nursing studies.  The funds are also available to students already enrolled in their nursing program.

Eligibility will include students from certain counties of Oregon, including Deschutes, Cook and Jefferson counties.  If no suitable applicant is found the scholarship may go to a student from Harney, Lake, Grant or Klamath county.

The Oregon Student Access Commission awards the Franz Stenzel M.D. and Kathryn Stenzel Scholarship to encourage residents of Oregon to pursue a post-secondary education.  The eligible candidate must be a graduate of an Oregon high school, enrolled in an accredited college or university in a two-year or four-year program to earn an undergraduate, graduate, nursing or medical degree.  Candidates must also have a GPA of at least 2.75.

Friends of Oregon Students Scholarships

The Oregon Student Access Commission is the official state of Oregon’s student assistance agency which helps individuals with finances to attend secondary education.   Many of these scholarships are available for individuals seeking a nursing career.

These funds are available to non-traditional students, such as single parents or older adults, returning to school to get a nursing education.

Only one application is needed and will be used to help locate scholarships for which you are eligible.  It is suggested (on the web site) you start your search and application as early as September.
