 Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society Nursing Scholarship Fund
The Hawaii Community Foundation offers the Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society Nursing Scholarship to encourage students who are residents of Hawaii to pursue careers in geriatric nursing.  The scholarship fund was established from a donation from Nadao & Meiko Yoshinaga. The eligible candidate must have been accepted in a nursing program at a university in Hawaii, pursuing an RN or LPN degree.  The eligible candidate must also have an interest in practicing geriatric nursing upon graduation.

Health Professions Education Foundation- Allied Healthcare Scholarship
The Health Professions Education Foundation offers the Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program for students who are accepted or enrolled in an allied healthcare field. Award recipients must be willing to commit one year or 100 hours volunteering indirect patient care in a medically underserved area of California.

Health Professions Education Foundation- Licensed Nurse Loan Repayment Program, LVN to ADN
The Health Professions Education Foundation offers the Vocational Nurse Scholarship, and Licensed Vocational Nurse Loan Repayment Program to increase the number of vocational nurses practicing in medically underserved areas of California. Eligible candidates must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited California Vocational Nursing Program or be licensed vocational nurse graduates who is practicing direct patient care.  Award recipients must be willing to commit to a service obligation in a medically underserved area of California.

The Health Professions Education Foundation offers the Bachelor of Science Nursing Scholarship and Loan Repayment Program to increase the number of Registered Nurses (RN) practicing in medically underserved areas of California. The eligible candidate must be enrolled in or accepted to a Bachelor of Science nursing program.  Award recipients must be willing to practice in California as an RN providing full-time direct patient care.

Award:  Up to $19,000

Hector Leon Garza, MD International Achievement Award
The American Respiratory Care Foundation offers the Hector Leon Garza, MD International Achievement Award to honor respiratory therapists and other health care providers who have made significant contributions to the development of international respiratory care. The Award was established in 2005 to honor Dr. Hector Leon Garza for the significant work he has done in the field of respiratory care.  The eligible candidate must have demonstrated a significant contribution to respiratory care and have encouraged the establishment and growth of international respiratory care organizations.

Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship
The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation offers the Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship to residents of Windham County, Vermont, pursuing careers in nursing.  The Scholarship was established by the children of Helen Switzer in recognition of her 30-year nursing career.  The eligible candidate must be a resident of Windham County.  Preference is given to residents of the towns of Rockingham, Westminster, Athens, and Grafton. The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, in a program to become licensed in practical nursing, achieve an associate’s degree in nursing, or achieve a bachelor of science degree in nursing.  The candidate must also demonstrate financial need.

The Johnson County Community Foundation offers the Herschel & Mary Mason Memorial Scholarship to a student who is graduating from Franklin Community High School and planning to study nursing.  The Scholarship was established in memory of Hershel and Mary Mason.  The eligible candidate must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in nursing.  The candidate must also have a GPA of at least 3.0.  Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.

Hispanic College Fund
The Hispanic College Fund offers the Kaiser Permanente College To Caring Program award to students who are juniors or seniors in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing.  The eligible candidate must be Hispanic and enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student in an accredited university in Northern California.  The candidate must also be a US citizen or permanent resident residing in Northern California.  Academic achievement and financial needs will be considered.

Montana State University Billings offers the Hole Nursing Endowed Scholarship to encourage students in Montana to pursue careers in nursing.   The eligible candidate must be enrolled at Montana State University Billings in a program to achieve an Associate of Applied Science degree in Practical Nursing or an Associate of Science Degree in Registered Nursing.  The candidate must also have a GPA of at least 3.0.  Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.

Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation (HPNF) End of Life Nursing
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing offers the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation End of Life Nursing Care Research Grant to encourage research into end-of-life care by nurses.  The eligible candidate must be a registered nurse with a master’s or doctoral degree, or the candidate must be enrolled in a doctoral program.  The candidate must also have a research project that is immediately ready for implementation when funding is available.  The research project is completed within one year.
