Jackie Harrigan Haase Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Coastal Community Foundation offers the Jackie Harrigan Haase Memorial Scholarship to provide financial assistance to special education students.

The fund was established in 2009 to honor Jackie Harrigan Haase who was dedicated to special education students as well as to students in the special education, nursing, medicine and counseling fields of study.  The eligible candidate must have plans to pursue a career in nursing, special education, psychology, medicine or psychology.  The eligible candidate must also be a graduate from the San Dieguito County School District with a GPA of at least 2.0.

James and Elizabeth Kraatz Undergraduate Burn Nursing Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is available through the Sinclair School of Nursing. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the School with an interest in burn nursing. The recipient will do independent study and for work with the Director of the Burn Unit at the University Hospital.

The scholarship is renewable annually.

James B. Carey Scholarship
The International Union of Electronic, Electrical, Salaried, Machine and Furniture Workers offers the James B. Carey Scholarship to children or grandchildren of current, retired or deceased IUE-CWA members.  The eligible candidate must have been accepted to or enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university, nursing school or technical school, pursuing an undergraduate degree.  The candidate must also have strong academic ability, leadership qualities, a commitment to community service and good character.

James D. Durante Nurse Scholarship
The Foundation for Quality Care offers the James D. Durante Nurse Scholarship to provide financial assistance to nursing students pursuing careers in long term care.  The Scholarship program is administered by the Foundation for Quality Care.  The eligible candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a program that will lead to becoming a registered nurse.  Or the candidate must be a registered nurse pursuing an advanced degree in nursing.

James M. Garrison Annual Scholarship in Nursing
Clemson University offers the James M. Boswell Annual Scholarship in Nursing to encourage students in South Carolina to pursue careers in nursing.  The eligible candidate must be a resident of Horry County, South Carolina, enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing.  The candidate must also have a GPA of at least 2.5. Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.

Dr James S. Garrison Scholarship

Sponsored through the Conway Regional Health System Foundation, this scholarship of $2,500 is available to students enrolled in health care studies, including nursing.  The monies may be used towards tuition, books and other such school expenses.

Eligibility includes being enrolled full time in studies’ grades will also be an important acceptance factor.

Preference is given to graduated high school students from Hickman High School, Columbia MO.  If there is no candidate from there then a graduate of any high school in Boone County may be selected.

Montana State University – Northern offers the Janet Walters Memorial Nursing Scholarship to a student pursuing a career in nursing.  The Scholarship fund was established in memory of Janet Walters by her family and friends.  The eligible candidate must be enrolled in the Department of Nursing at the Montana State University—Northern, in a program leading to an Associate of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.

The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) offers the Jean Andrews Nursing Scholarship to encourage Vermont students to pursue nursing careers.  The eligible candidate must reside in Addison County and attend an accredited college or university approved for Title IV funding.  The candidate must also be seeking a degree in nursing or nursing education.  Selection is based on financial need.  An essay is required as part of the application.

Jill and Ann Bilodeau Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Worcester State College offers the Jill and Ann Bilodeau Memorial Nursing Scholarship to a full-time undergraduate student studying nursing at Worcester State University.  This scholarship was established by the family of Jill Bilodeau to honor Jill who was a junior in Worcester State University’s Nursing program when she died in a motorcycle accident on September 9, 2001.  The eligible candidate must be a junior or senior in the nursing program at Worcester State University and in good academic standing.

Rhode Island College offers the J.O. The American Legion – Kansas offers the John and Geraldine Hobble Licensed Practical Nursing Scholarship to a nursing student in the state of Kansas.  To was established by the American Legion, Department of Kansas.  The eligible candidate must be a freshman, enrolled in an accredited Kansas college or university, working toward a degree in practical nursing.  The candidate must demonstrate both academic achievement and financial need.  The candidate must also have plans to work in a healthcare institution in the state of Kansas.

This scholarship is available through the Sinclair School of Nursing.  It is awarded annually, based on varying qualifications as deemed by the school Dean, or via a committee.  One or more scholarship may be distributed; dollar amount also varies.

The Southwest Florida Community Foundation offers the John I. and Madeleine R. Taeni Scholarship to provide financial assistance to students pursuing careers in nursing or paramedics.  The eligible candidate must be a resident of Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry or Lee County, Florida.  The candidate must also be enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree that will leave to a career as a nurse emergency medical technician or paramedic.

John Randolph Foundation

The John Randolph Foundation’s mission statement includes “…working to improve the health and quality of life for residents of Hopewell and surrounding areas through grants and scholarships.”

Through donations made from individuals and area business they are able to award a good number of scholarships.  Many of these can be used by college or university students seeking a career in nursing.

One application only is needed to apply for any of the scholarships. You may apply online but all necessary accompanying documents (letter of recommendation, test scores, etc) must be mailed in or submitted directly to the foundation office.
