Ralph A. Sleeter Nursing Scholarship
Montana State University – Northern offers the Ralph A. Sleeter Nursing Scholarship to encourage Montana students to pursue nursing careers.

The funding for this scholarship was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Neal Brenna in memory of Mr. Sleeter.  The Nursing Department offers the Associate of Science in Nursing degree and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in a culturally rich, student-centered environment. The eligible candidate must be enrolled in the nursing program and have a GPA of at least 2.5.

Rebecca Goldman Scholarship
The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation offers the Rebecca Goldman Scholarship to encourage students who reside in the Greater Kanawha Valley area to pursue careers in nursing.  The Foundation was established in 1962 to help families in the area improve their lives. The eligible candidate must be a resident of West Virginia and must be a full-time student enrolled in the nursing program of an accredited college, university or nursing school.  The candidate must also have a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrate good moral character.

Regina Sallee Williams Scholarship
Mount Carmel College of Nursing offers the Regina Sallee Williams Scholarship to encourage African American students to pursue careers in nursing.  Founded over 100 years ago by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Mount Carmel College of Nursing is one of the largest schools in Ohio that offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.  The eligible candidate must be African American and must be enrolled in the Mount Carmel College of Nursing.  The candidate must have a GPA of at least 2.86.

Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation Grant
The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing offers the Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation Grant to encourage nursing research related to rehabilitation.  This research grant is funded by the Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation and Sigma Theta Tau International.  The eligible candidate must be able to demonstrate significant contributions to rehabilitation nursing, and must be a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing degree.  The candidate must also have a research project ready for implementation that can be completed in two years.

Renatta S. Loquist Scholarship for Graduate Nursing Education

Rhode Island Foundation Scholarships

The Rhode Island Foundation provides access to over 150 scholarships, many which are available to students wishing to study nursing, as well as those available for nurses wishing to advance their education to a Baccalaureate degree, or higher.

Many require you to be a resident of Rhode Island; others more specifically are for graduating high school students from particular schools.  It would be wise to check with your guidance councilor if you are indeed a senior in high school at this time.

Robert E. Bass Scholarship
The Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County offers the Robert E. Bass Scholarship to encourage adults to pursue undergraduate degrees.  The eligible candidate must an adult learner, having graduated from high school in 2007 or earlier, and must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate degree.  The candidate must also be a resident of Lorain, Erie, Huron, Ashland, Medina or Cuyahoga County.  Preference is given to residents of Lorain County and candidates pursuing degrees in nursing, medicine or business.  Selection is based on academic achievement, community involvement and financial need.

The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Foundation offers the Roberta Pierce Scofield Bachelor’s Scholarship to provide financial support to students interested in oncology and in pursuing a career in nursing.  The ONS is a professional organization of nurses and other healthcare providers who are committed to patient care, research and education in oncology nursing. This award was established in memory of Roberta Scofield, the first President of the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation.   The eligible candidate must be enrolled in a nursing program, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.  The candidate must not have an RN license and must not have a college degree.

The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Foundation offers the Roberta Scofield Memorial Certification Award to help registered nurses’ obtain or renew OCN, AOCN, COP, AOCNP or AOCNS certification. Roger Burke Scholarship
The Henry County Community Foundation offers the Roger Burke Scholarship to provide financial support to graduates of New Castle High School pursuing careers in nursing.  This scholarship was established at the direction of the late Roger Burke, who was a resident of New Castle, Indiana and graduated from New Castle High School in 1951.  The eligible candidate must be a senior graduating from New Castle High School with plans to enroll in a nursing program at an accredited college, university or school of nursing.  Selection is based on financial need.

The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth offers the Rose Castonguay Scholarship to provide financial support to students completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program.  The College of Nursing is nationally recognized for its vibrant learning environment that promotes creativity, compassion and analytical thinking.  The eligible candidate must be entering his or her third year of the four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth College of Nursing.

Rosemary Berkel Crisp Research Award
The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing offers the Rosemary Berkel Crisp Research Award to encourage nursing research in pediatrics, oncology and women’s health.  This research grant is funded by a gift from The Harry L. Crisp, II and Rosemary Berkel Crisp Foundation.  The eligible candidate must be a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.  The candidate must also have a research project ready for implementation upon receipt of the award.  The candidate must be a member in good standing of Sigma Theta Tau International.  Preference is given to residents of Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee.

ROTC Nursing Scholarship
The College of St. Benedict offers the ROTC Nursing Scholarship to support students who are interested in both the ROTC and pursuing a nursing career.  The College of St. Benedict, in conjunction with St. John’s University offers a four year program cumulating in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.  The eligible candidate must be a student in the nursing program at the College of St. Benedict and must plan to join the ROTC.  Selection is based on leadership ability, class rank, ACT or SAT scores and GPA.

R.O.T.C  U.S Air Force High School Scholarships

The ROTC offers several scholarships to high school seniors wishing to attend college. Though 2 of the scholarships are for technical studies, the Type 7 scholarship is available to students who wish to attend college for nursing studies.  This scholarship pays the tuition at qualifying schools, plus provides $900 per year for books.  A monthly nontaxable allowance is also provided during the academic year

Eligibility includes willingness to complete the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Course (AFROTC) during the freshman year. Applicants must complete the SAT or ACT by December 1st and submit them my January 14th (2011 dates). Applicants must also undergo, and pass, a medical and physical fitness tests

Ruby A. Brown Memorial Scholarship
The East Tennessee Foundation offers the Ruby A. Brown Memorial Scholarship to provide financial assistance to students from Tennessee pursuing careers in nursing.   This scholarship was established in memory of Ruby A. Brown, a public health nurse, who worked in the East Tennessee region for 25 years.  The eligible candidate must be entering the freshman year at an accredited nonprofit nursing program and must be employed as a public health nurse.  The candidate must also be from Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier, or Union, Tennessee.  Selection is based on financial need.
