Oklahoma Nursing Schools

There are over 60+ different accredited nursing schools in Oklahoma in our database. This is a number that is higher than average for most of the states in the Midwest, and there are a lot of options for prospective nurses looking to get into nursing and current nurses looking to further their careers.

Table of Contents

Much of Oklahoma is relatively rural, though the state does have some urban areas. This creates a couple of problems when it comes to making sure that Oklahoma residents get the nursing care that they need, including;
– Attracting nurses to rural hospitals, which often aren’t able to offer the same incentives as large, urban hospitals.
– Educating would-be nursing students that live in areas of the state with poor access to nursing schools.
– Keeping new nurses within Oklahoma, instead of losing them to large medical centers in New York or Massachusetts.

Luckily, Oklahoma has a wealth of excellent nursing schools, including a lot of schools that specialize in turning out qualified practical nurses. Though LPNs are in high demand for facilities like private practices and nursing homes, RNs and nurses with advanced degrees are even more highly sought after by the state’s many hospitals.
