Tri County Technology Center Nursing Program Review

The Tri County Technology Center (TCTC) located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma was founded in 1967. The center serves Nowata, Washington, and Osage counties. Over 600 students are served at Tri County Technology Center each year including high school students and adults. Tri County Technology Center is a certified small business incubator and offers training in safety, entrepreneurship and operation of small business.

The local community can benefit from the low-cost services provided by professionals in training at Tri County Technology Center. The cosmetology, childcare, dental hygiene and culinary arts programs offer services to the local community. Tri County Technology Center is accredited by the Oklahoma Board of Career and Technology Education.

The Practical Nursing program at Tri County Technology Center is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).

Tri County Technology Center Undergraduate Nursing Programs

Pre-Nursing (NRS)

High school students interested in a nursing career may enroll in the Pre-Nursing program which leads to Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) qualification. The pre-nursing program includes courses in CPR and anatomy and physiology in addition to other clinical experiences. Upon completion of the program, students take the CNA exam. The Pre-Nursing program is 525 hours of study and can be completed in two academic semesters. This exploratory nursing program is only open to high school juniors and seniors. Students may earn college credit for the program through several universities including Tulsa Community College, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and Coffeeyville Community College.

Practical Nursing (PN)

The Practical Nursing program at Tri County Technology Center prepares students to serve in a variety of healthcare settings. The Practical Nursing program includes classroom, laboratory and clinical work. Students in the Practical Nursing program will have the opportunity to complete clinical practicum experiences at private practice offices and long term care facilities among other settings. Admission requirements to the LPN program include a high school diploma or GED and being at least 18 years of age upon admittance to the program. Upon completion of the Practical Nursing program, students may take the National Council for Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The LPN program may be completed in approximately one year of academic study. Practical Nursing students have the opportunity to earn up to 10 college credits from the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology among other universities through the Cooperative Alliance Program.

ED2GO Online Nursing Courses

Students can earn a certificate in specialized areas of nursing practice through ED2Go’s online courses offered at Tri County Technology Center. Each online course is 6 weeks and includes topics such as Gerontology (caring for the elderly), Integrative Mental Health and Holistic and Integrative Health. Courses usually have a monthly start date.

Alumni Support Services at Tri County Technology Center

Tri County Technology Center strives to grow and maintain effective relationships with alumni of the center. Services provided to alumni include job search assistance and the opportunity to inspire students through sharing success stories. The Strategy Center affiliated with Tri Count y Technology Center also offers services to assist individuals in starting a business.
