Once your application is accepted, then you will be assigned a testing spot and date for your examination.
How Do I Choose a School in Maine That Will Give Me the Best Possible Chance to Pass the Licensing Exam?
There is no magic bullet available to predict with certainty which ADN program in Maine will give you the best chance for success, but there are some factors that can help you decide. First, the school must have an ADN program approved by the Maine State Board of Nursing, or, for an out of state school, by an appropriate outside accrediting agency. Maine will allow you to apply for a nursing license even if you obtained your ADN from an out-of-state program as long as the ADN program was approved in the state where it was taken and the ADN program meets qualifications comparable to those required in Maine at the time of the applicant’s graduation. Any legitimate ADN program to which you are applying should be able to tell you if their program meets Maine’s qualifications. The school also should be able to give you statistics on the pass rates for its ADN graduates on the national licensing exam. If the school does not keep track of its pass rate, that probably should be a red flag that you might consider another school.
