Like other states, the Idaho State Board of Nursing keeps tight control of the course content and delivery of all LPN training courses in the state. In fact, if you don’t take a state accredited training course, there’s every possibility that you won’t be able to take the competency exam, or register as an LPN. So if you’re looking for courses, make sure that the one you choose has the Idaho State Board of Nursing stamp of approval, before you sigh up.

What To Expect From LPN Training In Idaho

The course content for LPNs in Idaho is similar to that of most other states – it’s very technical (lots of math and science), with terminology, pharmacology and anatomy being a few of the subjects covered, and it’s also hands on. You will train in a classroom and with real patients, under the supervision of an RN (Registered Nurse), to gain the necessary skills. In fact, once you have completed the Idaho state approved training program, you will be ready to work in the field, as an LPN, at any hospital or medical facility.

Registration, Prospects and Earnings for Idaho LPN’s

If you want to work as an LPN in Idaho, you need to take the NCLEX-PN national licensing exam, and once you have passed it, apply for licensing with the state Board of Nursing.

Once you’ve done that, you should have no trouble finding a job as an LPN at one of the many hospitals, nursing homes, maternity hospitals or medical practices in the state, and you will potentially earn an average salary of around $41,000 per year.
